Paralysis Character Design

From bullet points to sketches to modeling.

Child - Protagonist

The character I focused on designing the most, the child is the design that I had the least amount of reference for but the most variations of in terms of concept development. Since it was my first time fully modeling a character, I decided to stick with more simple forms while keeping the painterly style render.

Creature - Foil Antagonist

I based this character off of several references. I wanted to give it a more angular and jagged shape and movement, with a more grotesque humanoid face to give it a tinge of familiarity.

Mother - Passive Guide

I based the mother character mainly off of layered garments prevalent in cultures such as East Africa. I wanted to illustrate her with a “holier-than-thou” presence, almost as if she were an untouchable entity.
